Welcome
to my Phantom of the Opera Doll
creation-in-progress.
A brand new one of a kind Erik doll that I offered for auction on eBay.

This
handsome chap has kindly agreed to step in and model as an example
of some of my other work but the one I'm currently making is very
different which I'll explain in a moment. |

Some
of you may know that I usually create 18-inch Phantom dolls with
a cloth body and clay head, mask, hands and shoes. But, like the 18-inch dolls the new one will be dressed in a real tailor made fabric tuxedo and removable mask, revealing Erik's sad disfigurment. OK, now the progress report: |
Here
he is at the very beginning in a very rough state, just fleshing out
his shape over the wire armature.
Made of Polymer clay.
| He's getting there - skinny legs, cute tush! - but I'm still working on him. It's good to see him like this now because once the clothes go on that's the last time we'll catch him in his birthday suit. He'll be relieved! |

| Face
detailed nicely. Lots and lots of smoothing, trimming... Next, the hair gets sculpted on. You can see his hands are missing. I will do those separately. |

Next
is a close up of his face but as I said, lots more work to do on
it yet. |

Whew! What a job. And not many new photos at this point because it's taken days to get the man's body and mask finished. As I said, this is a new size of Phantom for me and although he's not as big as the 18 inch doll, he's extremely time consuming just the same. |
